Network Interface
The C3IGateway routes data in real-time from gas, water, and electric meters across
the Internet to a corresponding real-time information platform, the EnergyC3I Server.
You can interface the C3IGateway with any combination of four electric, gas, and water meters.
The C3IGateway supports RS-485 technology allowing serial connection of metered points, and
can collect 31 days of 15-minute interval data for up to four meters. The C3IGateway also
computes total usage, 1-minute, 5-minute, 15-minute, and 30-minute demand. Certain
electronic meters can also gather power factor, current, and voltage on each phase.
The gateway has an RJ-45 connection for connecting to any Ethernet network.
This connection can be made using a cable modem, 802.11wireless, broadband power line
carrier or other network device.
The gateway support DHCP, which means its network addresses can be dynamically
configured. This significantly reduces the required management of these devices.
